CARIOQA -PMP Podcast : Earth's gravity : Why and how do we map it ?

The CARIOQA-PMP project is delighted to announce the launch of its brand-new podcast series Quantum Innovations in Space. Produced within the framework of the EU-funded Horizon Europe initiative, this series offers a fresh and accessible way to explore the scientific and technological ambitions of the CARIOQA mission. The first episode features Félix Perosanz, Head of Earth Observation–Solid Space Programmes at CNES. He shares insights into the history of gravimetry missions, the importance of measuring Earth’s gravity, and the pioneering role of CARIOQA-PMP in advancing quantum accelerometers for future Earth observation. As part of its expert outreach activities, the CARIOQA-PMP project is also organising a series of three expert webinars targeting professionals from both the Earth Observation and Cold Atom communities. These webinars aim to facilitate knowledge exchange, present project results, and promote best practices related to quantum sensor technologies for gravity measurements, as well as applications in gravity missions. The first webinar in the series will take place on 15 October 2025, focusing on:“Quantum Sensors – Status on Ground”.
