Do two walk together without knowing each other? Does a lion roar in the forest without prey? Does a young lion cry out from its den without catching anything? Does a bird fall to the ground without setting a snare? Does a trap rise from the ground before it has caught something? Can a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not tremble? Can disaster come upon a city, but the LORD does it? For the LORD God will do nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets. When a lion roars, who will not fear? When the LORD God speaks, who will not prophesy? I have devastated you as God devastated Sodom and Gomorrah; you have become like a brand plucked from the fire, yet you have not returned to me, says the Lord. Therefore, thus will I do to you, O Israel. And because I will do this to you, prepare to appear before your God, O Israel!
