Why do so many Black expats say they feel safer in Japan than back home? In this video, I break down what “feeling safe” actually means for me as a Black Trini-American living in Japan. From violent crime rates and public order to police encounters and social predictability. Is Japan really that much safer? Or is it that it just feels different than what I'm used to?
