Motorized Sofa Build

Build of a motorized Ikea sofa. After a rough sketch the design work started with making a CAD model of the sofa. The small space inside the sofa was setting the boundaries of the chassi design. The chassi is very similar to a gokart. The rear axle is shorter than the front axle since this makes the sofa easier to turn due to the lack of a differential drive. The Briggs & Stratton 9 hp engine drives the rear axle via a CVT(continuously variable transmission). Steering is made by moving the steering lever left and right.
