PMP Tutorial | Work in Progress (WIP), WIP Limits, Lead Time, Cycle Time, and Throughput + Question
BlindTutor.com presents: ๐ In this video, you are gonna see what Work in Progress (WIP), WIP Limits, Lead Time, Cycle Time, and Throughput are in Agile Projects, and weโll solve a real PMP-style question about them together ๐ฏ These Agile flow metrics help teams measure efficiency, identify bottlenecks, and improve delivery performance ๐ ๐น Work in Progress (WIP) Work in Progress refers to the tasks that have been started but are not yet completed ๐ What it does: Shows how much work the team is currently handling at a given time. Example ๐ฑ: A Kanban board shows: 5 tasks in "In Progress" 3 tasks in "Testing" WIP = 8 tasks ๐น WIP Limit A WIP Limit is the maximum amount of work allowed in a workflow stage at one time ๐ง What it does: Prevents multitasking, reduces bottlenecks, and encourages teams to finish work before starting new work. Example ๐ฑ: The "In Progress" column has a WIP Limit of 3 tasks. If 3 tasks are already in progress, no new work can be started until one is completed. ๐น Lead Time Lead Time is the total time from when work is requested until it is delivered to the customer ๐ฆ What it does: Measures the customer's waiting time. Example ๐ฑ: Customer requests a feature on June 1. Feature is delivered on June 11. Lead Time = 10 days ๐น Cycle Time Cycle Time is the time it takes to complete work after the team starts working on it โฑ๏ธ What it does: Measures the team's delivery speed. Example ๐ฑ: Work starts on June 4. Work finishes on June 11. Cycle Time = 7 days ๐น Throughput Throughput is the amount of work completed during a specific period ๐ What it does: Measures the team's output and delivery rate. Example ๐ฑ: A team completes: 12 user stories this sprint 15 user stories next sprint Throughput is the number of completed items during the selected timeframe. ๐น PMP Exam Tip ๐ฆ Lead Time = Request โ Delivery โฑ๏ธ Cycle Time = Start Work โ Finish Work ๐ WIP = Work currently being worked on ๐ง WIP Limit = Maximum allowed WIP ๐ Throughput = Amount of work completed over time ๐ฏ These metrics help Agile teams improve flow, reduce bottlenecks, increase predictability, and deliver value more efficiently ๐ For Complete PMP Tutorial, Check out: BLINDTUTOR.COM #NavEskand #BlindTutor #blindtutor.com #FreePMPTutorial #PMP #PMPCertification #ProjectManagement #PMI #PMPExam #ProjectManager #PMPLessons #PMPPrep #PMPTraining #PMPStudy #PassPMP #PMPExamPrep #PMP2026 #PMPStudyPlan #PMPTips #PMPTricks #PMPSuccess #PMPMockExam #PMPQuestions #PMPBootcamp #Agile #Scrum #Waterfall #ProjectPlanning #RiskManagement #ScheduleManagement #PMBOK #AgilePM #HybridProjectManagement #CAPM #PMPMindsets #FreeCAPMTutorial #PMBOK6 #PMBOK7 #PMBOK8 #Agilepracticeguide #FREEPMPMockexam #FREEPMPTEST #PMPMindsets #mindset #PMPQuestion #PMPPracticeTest
