La revolución industrial - Mijailov

A book of enormous pedagogical, scientific and social value despite its evident propaganda of communism. By getting away from prejudices, the work can be assessed in its proper measure: a clear and effective essay that shows us the development of the industrial revolution. I had already read it in school, but rereading it allowed me to identify several new aspects: 1. Other books complement the scientific aspect very well, such as Weber's "Protestant Ethics and the Spirit of Capitalism", since I consider that many changes are not only material, but the spirit facilitates or interrupts them. 2. Despite their age, the examples that we can contrast with our reality are still valid. We see that the adoption of the changes like railways and steam were not easy, but the pioneers managed to carry it out; and we must do the same with clean energy sources. 3. Appreciating and knowing history will allow us to think about the importance of communism, not only in the improvement that its struggle brought to many workers, but also as an incentive for capitalism not to rest on its laurels and achieve several milestones such as space travels. With all of the above, I think it is important to give the book another chance and recreate its message that, regardless of our political affiliation, we will find enormously valuable.
