The Odisha Panchayat Elections may witness a slight delay, according to Election Commission Secretary Santosh Kumar Das. The election process is expected to be conducted in April-May after the completion of the SIR exercise, which will continue until the first week of March. Preparations are already underway to complete the Panchayat elections by June 2027. Meetings with RDCs and District Collectors have been held, while another virtual review meeting is scheduled on the 21st. For the first time, a door-to-door survey and booth-wise voter verification will be conducted before the elections.
