Andy Burnham has arrived in London to be sworn in as the MP for Makerfield, having announced he will run to replace Sir Keir Starmer as Labour leader. Sir Keir laid out his resignation plan in an address outside Number 10 this morning, setting 9 July as the start date for the process to find his successor.
