On this trip to Easter Island by plane from Santiago de Chile, we decided not to take a tour of the island of Rapa Nui. As travelling to Easter Island is not something you do every day, after our flight we decided that touring the island and meeting its people to make this 4K video was the best way to get to know its history. What to visit on Easter Island? We left that for the video of our trip with travel itineraries and things to do on the island, but this is another kind of video beyond the moais. On this trip we discover the history of the Peruvian slavers who for about two years enslaved the Rapa Nui of Easter Island. The slavery was carried out by ships that took the Easter Islanders by force to Callao. When slavery was abolished in their country and there were no Peruvian or African slaves, a terrible slaughter took place, which we learnt about on this trip.
