In an arithmetic sequence, each term of the sequence is related by a common difference. That is, the arithmetic sequence formula dictates that the next term in the sequence is calculated by adding a constant value to the previous term. In this way, if you one subtracts any two adjacent terms in the sequence, the same common difference will arise between terms.
