His father was a civil servant at Çaykur, and his mother was a housewife. He spent his childhood in Rize. He lost his mother when he was only 13, and his father a year later, when he was 14. One of the greatest traumas in his family was his father's accidental death. This event left a deep mark on young Davut's life. These great losses forced him to embark on a life struggle at a very early age. He began his education at Imam Hatip High School but was forced to drop out. Life's challenges pushed him deeper into life than just his school days. Davut, struggling to hold on to life under the shadow of the pain he experienced at a young age, was also listening to his inner passions. His interest in football led him to Rize's amateur football clubs for a time. He played for six years for clubs like Rize Belediyespor and Salaha Spor. While he was sweating on the pitch, he carried another dream: music within him. Even as life threw him in different directions, he was always searching for a way out. He moved to Istanbul in 1991. This city was a new beginning for him, but also a challenging battleground. To make ends meet, he and his family engaged in various business ventures. They ran a bakery, opened a market, and took on driving lessons. However, the challenges of the market prevented them from holding a steady career. While working as a marketer, he attended music courses run by Arif Sağ. Music was a growing voice within him. After closing his market, he began earning his living by singing at wedding halls and restaurants. Everything he learned during this period were the first building blocks of a musical career that would later take shape. This passion for music, combined with the training he received in Arif Sağ's courses, private lessons, and his own talent, gradually prepared him for the stage. He began to finely craft his music, infusing the rhythms of the Black Sea with his own soul. He was on his way to becoming a voice that transformed life's pain into melodies. In 1998, he realized a dream he had nurtured for years. He released his first album, "Sarılsam da Olmayi, Darılsam da Olmayi." Although this album broke into the music world, it failed to make the impact he desired. He would later express his dissatisfaction with it, saying, "It didn't reflect who I am." However, this was not the end for him, but merely the beginning. He furthered his knowledge through Arif Sağ's courses and private music lessons. He realized that art is a path shaped by effort and education. With this awareness, he turned his attention to music more seriously. After extensive research and study, he began to find his own style. She developed a unique style that blended the powerful rhythms of the Black Sea region with pop music. She transformed music into not just entertainment, but the language of life, culture, and pain. With her anticipated breakthrough album "Nurcanım" (Nurcanım), released in January 2001, this album became a turning point not only for her but also for the music world of the time. Including bootleg sales, the album sold approximately 2-2.5 million copies. Music videos for "Nurcanım" and "Benim Büyük Allah'ım" (My Great Allah) propelled the album's popularity to new heights. With this album, Güloğlu's local fame reached national heights, resonating throughout the country. Her ethno-pop songs captured the attention not only of music lovers but also of politicians. Then-President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, through producer Şahin Özer, called Davut Güloğlu and congratulated him, saying, "You've lifted the spirits of this joyful song in this country's current climate." With this album, Davut Güloğlu became known as a figure who lifted the public's spirits. This success elevated him to a new position both in his inner world and in the public eye. The album, which also featured his own compositions, featured the lyrics and music of four songs, and the lyrics and music of one song. He now distinguished himself not only as a performer but also as a songwriter and composer. "Nurcanım" (My Nurcan) was a milestone that crowned his love for music. Following his breakthrough with "Nurcanım," Davut Güloğlu returned to the music scene in May 2003 after a two-and-a-half-year hiatus with the album "Katula Katula." This album marked a turning point not only in his career but also in the ethno-pop movement in Turkey. The album featured twelve songs, each one combining the fierce spirit of the Black Sea region with modern music. This time, he not only had the voice but also the pen. The lyrics and music of one song, and the lyrics of three others, were his own. In this respect, he was no lo...
