It's not uncommon to see anglers roll casting a sinktip line out of the water, before making a Spey cast. The vast majority of time, it's completely unnecessary to roll cast a sinktip line or short full sinking line out of the water before making our Spey cast. Let's look at how to extract sinkers and get them on their way without wasting time and energy on a roll cast.
