Vicente Aleixandre. De Velintonia al cielo
Vicente Aleixandre: From Velintonia to Heaven Air Date: October 30, 2009 TV Program - Twenty-five years after his death, Vicente Aleixandre remains one of the most representative and original poetic voices in our language. The Nobel Prize, awarded to him by the Swedish Academy in 1977, represented international recognition of a body of work that not even forty years of dictatorship could silence. He was a prominent member of the Generation of '27, and the fact that he remained in his Madrid home during the dark years of the Franco regime was always an inspiration and a living example for new generations of Spanish writers. Today, that same house sadly lies abandoned due to a lack of understanding between the administration and the Nobel laureate's heirs. Participants: Vicente Granados, Professor of Literature, UNED; Alejandro Sanz, President of the Association of Friends of Vicente Aleixandre; Luís Antonio de Villena, Poet.
