VW DSG Megatronic No gears No start - Fixed!

Here I show how I worked through the classic DSG DQ500 no gears problem on a VW T5.2 DSG. Symptoms can be suddenly loss of gears while driving or sporadic loss of gears. Gearbox selecting random gears eg D7 while stationary at the traffic lights. Can't get the gear selector out of park and the engine won't start. Most people immediately say it's the megatronic unit is toast but they are actually very reliable on the DQ500 and expensive to replace. It's usually not the megatronic !
