Glasfaser-Ausbau: Horizontal-Spülbohrverfahren als alternative Bauweise

The horizontal directional drilling method is considered an alternative construction method for laying underground fiber optic cables. It is particularly suitable for passing under obstacles such as roads, buildings, or rivers and is generally considered more economical and cost-effective because it can be completed more quickly than the conventional method. First, the drill head is calibrated in the pilot process to measure the exact depth and location. Then, in the second step, the borehole is adjusted accordingly, and in the third step, the product pipe is pulled in. Drilling a directional pipe ensures that no third-party underground installations are damaged. We took a closer look at the horizontal directional drilling method during the broadband expansion in Simonswald.
