Empire Metals adds top experts as titanium testwork begins at Pitfield

Empire Metals Ltd (AIM:EEE, OTCQB:EPMLF) managing director Shaun Bunn talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company’s latest progress at its Pitfield titanium project. Bunn said the company is focused on producing its first maiden mineral resource statement, marking a key milestone. He outlined the completion of Empire’s largest-ever drill campaign, involving over 10,000 metres of drilling across 180 holes, to better understand the project's commercial potential. He introduced two new technical appointments: Alan Rubio as study manager, and Pocholo Aviso as hydro-metallurgist. Rubio will lead economic and infrastructure studies, while Aviso will focus on product development. Bunn said: “Pocholo’s role is critical in terms of our strategic advancement.” Bulk metallurgical testing has begun using 70 tonnes of sample material from the Cosgrave and Thomas targets. For the first time, samples are going through a commercial-scale gravity circuit, followed by scrubbing and flotation to develop concentrate samples. Empire is also collaborating with Strategic Metallurgy, a firm that Bunn described as instrumental in bridging lab-scale testing with real-world application: “It will save us a lot of time and help us evaluate multiple flowsheets.” Bunn confirmed assay results from the recent drilling are pending and noted the company is targeting near-surface, high-grade ore zones across a 13km² area.
