Blue Lantern Dwarf Star Stereo Delay Mk2 || Overview, Manual, & Demo
(Headphones are Recommended) In this video we walk through the Dwarf Star Stereo Delay Mk2 by Blue Lantern Modules. This is a unique and rather clean delay that is a great addition to any rack, whether or not you have delay units already. The unique FX knob gives this delay more of a guitar pedal flavor rather than the traditional dry/wet crossfading that most eurorack delays use. The delay chips are extremely clean and never clip even when overdriven with repeats/feedback. We can however get a digitally degraded sound by pushing the delay's buffer size by using the spread knobs or using external CV to pushing those time knobs further. When the Repeats are set very high and the FX knob is set just below maximum (at about 85%), you can achieve a self-feedbacking wall of sound similar to bucket brigade delays. And the finishing feature that gives this module that DJ effect touch (and brings it even closer in performance to a guitar pedal), is the bypass circuit. Set it to momentary or toggle, use the push button or external bypass trigger/gate input. Or use some clever patching with the momentary setting to rig up a kill switch for your delay FX. Use it as a stereo delay, a two stage delay, or two nearly independent delay units. Whether you are building your first rack, or have a vast collection of delay type effects, with all it's unique character, this module is sure to find a place in your system.
