World Refugee Day 2026: How Can the Church Counter Xenophobia?

In commemoration of World Refugee Day 2026, Healing Hearts Transforming Nations (HHTN), the Refugee Highway Partnership (RHP), and the Peace and Reconciliation Network (PRN) hosted this important webinar under the theme “How Can the Church Counter Xenophobia?” At a time when many societies are experiencing growing hostility towards foreigners, rising anti-immigrant sentiment, and increasing social division, this conversation explores the Church’s biblical calling to welcome the stranger, stand against discrimination, and nurture communities of healing, belonging, and reconciliation. Bringing together experts from refugee protection, church leadership, reconciliation ministry, and public policy, the webinar examines the realities facing refugees and displaced people, the factors driving xenophobia, and practical ways churches can respond with compassion, hospitality, advocacy, and faith-informed action.
