I Spent One Year Alone Off Grid in the Mountains

I spent an entire year alone off grid in the Carpathian Mountains, living in a remote cabin surrounded only by forest, snow, silence and wildlife. This video captures my isolated life throughout 2025 — building, surviving winter, working around the cabin and living far away from modern civilization in one of Europe’s wildest mountain regions. I’ve been living completely off grid here since 2020. The cabin is over 80 years old and was fully renovated by me after I moved into the mountains. At 1200 meters above sea level, access to the cabin is possible most of the year only with dedicated off-road vehicles, making every trip through the forest an adventure of its own. Most days are spent in complete solitude, surrounded by nature, mountain silence and wildlife — with only the occasional visit from friends who manage to reach this remote place.
