John Quinn and the Art of Collecting

John Quinn held the largest collection of Modern art in the world at the time of his death in 1924. He owned over 2,000 pieces by 151 artists, including Picasso, Matisse, Seurat, Van Gogh, Brancusi, and Duchamp-Villon. Our Guest lecturer, Dr. Virginia Badgett from the Boston Athenaeum provides details about the importance of his collection.
