Poojyasri Sadhu Om Swamigal, a very ardent disciple of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharishi is a versatile Tamil poet-par-excellence and a musician too. Sadhu Om is well known with devotees of Bhagavan Ramana for his explanation of his gurus' philosophy in a very simple language. Born (1922) in Punnainalloor (Thanjavur) in Tamil Nadu, he was drawn to Bhagavan through a magazine "Sri Ramana Vijayam" at the age of 24. He was naturally endowed with a mind that always sought the Divine. His first experience with Ramana Bhagavan drenched him in the ecstasy of Divine Bliss. It is Sri Bhagavan's statement to Sri. Muruganaar of comparing Sadhu Om with other saintly divine poets as Thirugnanasambandhar, Arunagirinathar and Ramalinga Adigal. After meeting Ramana Bhagavan in Tiruvannamalai, Sri Sadhu Om spent all his life with Bhagavan and tirelessly practiced Self-Enquiry for 30 odd years.
