This video serves as a reminder that the traditional detachable systems (half clove hitch/mule knot and figure eight hitch) used in canyoning present significant operational risks. Thus, as in climbing, we demonstrate the inherent dangers of rope release and propose avenues for reflection and solutions to improve the safety of climbers. This document should be considered a prelude, an invitation to the harmonization work that we will propose in the near future, in collaboration with federations, training organizations, professional unions, and inventors.
