The "May" Dilemma - 50s Doo-Wop vs. 70s Retro "I just couldn't decide... so I gave you both!" When I wrote "May", I felt two very different heartbeats for the song. One side of me heard the golden, warm sunshine of the 1970s, while the other was snapping fingers to the upbeat, soulful rhythm of the 1950s Doo-Wop era. Since I couldn't choose which vibe I loved more, I decided to produce two unique versions for you! The 1950s Doo-Wop Version (This One): This version is all about that authentic soda-shop feel—handclaps, tight vocal harmonies, and a walking bassline that makes you want to dance barefoot.
