What’s it like to go on a rustic safari in Botswana? It’s time for an epic journey from Johannesburg to the heart of the Okavango Delta! Join me as I make my way to Oddballs Camp, one of the most remote and breathtaking safari destinations in Botswana. Our adventure begins with a flight from Johannesburg into Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta. From there we’ll take a thrilling bush plane ride over the delta’s winding waterways, spotting elephants and hippos from above before landing at a tiny airstrip deep in the wilderness. At Oddballs Camp, we’ll settle into our rustic yet beautiful tented accommodation. Our first excursion takes us on a mokoro safari, gliding silently through the delta’s serene channels in a traditional dugout canoe. Along the way, we’ll encounter elephants, impala, and even a leopard…on foot! As the sun sets over the delta, we’ll reflect on an incredible first day in this untouched paradise.
