Gratuitous Detroit Noise - Prepping A Detroit Diesel 4-53T Silver For My 1975 Dodge D600 Truck Build
I'm building a medium duty Dodge truck with a 4-53T Detroit engine because it seemed like a good idea. I got a ridiculously good deal on the truck itself, on the engine, and on the heavy duty truck transmission that will live behind it. I love the idea of building a whacky hauler like this on a shoestring budget with whatever junk I can get my hands on. I'm definitely looking forward to hauling race cars and classics with this truck, and running it through a ridiculous number of gears. But today is not that day. Instead, I'm going to work on preparing the engine for installation, and then fire it up on the floor of my shop - but only because I can.
