Webinar - Usare la Filosofia per sviluppare le competenze trasversali

Philosophy's critical approach lends itself to developing "transversal skills"—broad-spectrum skills that allow one to adapt to different contexts and find solutions to complex problems—as it fosters a non-mechanical, but rather creative and flexible, use of analytical, reasoning, and argumentation skills. This is demonstrated by the most recent debates that philosophical knowledge has developed on society, economics, ethics, and globalization. We can say that the history of philosophy itself coincides, in a certain sense, with the exercise of highly sophisticated transversal skills: evidence of this is the fact that sciences and specialized disciplines arose when philosophers set out to address new and unprecedented problems posed by the context in which they operated (an example is the birth of economics between the 18th and 19th centuries). Riccardo Chiaradonna was born in Rome in 1970 and is a full professor of History of Ancient Philosophy at Roma Tre University. He studied in Rome, Paris, and Oxford. He is the author of articles and publications in Italy and abroad, primarily on the Platonic and Aristotelian traditions. He is co-author of the A. Mondadori Scuola philosophy course "Philosophy - The Search for Knowledge."
