Two views of the 1926 Fitz overshot waterwheel at Hanford Mills Museum
Two views of the 1926 Fitz Overshot waterwheel in operation at Hanford Mills Museum in East Meredith, NY. The power generated is used to run the sawmill and woodworking machines. The first view is from the visitor platform, and the second is from the tail race. The 10-foot diameter waterwheel is 12 feet wide. A system of belts, pulleys and gears transfers the power to machines upstairs in the Mill.
