It's great for kayaking — the water is calm, shallow, and protected from wind. The park is actively being improved with erosion protection. The downside: only 3 parking spots (including 1 handicap), so it's best if you live in the neighborhood. Homes in this area start around $350,000, with waterfront properties stretching into the millions. #2 — Meg's Park Boat Ramp (Shalimar) Located deep in the Shalimar neighborhood, Meg's Park is a well-hidden gem with a sand area and small beach — plus a boat ramp for easy Gulf access via the Back Bay. During low tide, even more beach opens up. Parking is limited, but if you're in the neighborhood, it's walkable. Interior homes in Shalimar run $300,000–$600,000. Back Bay waterfront homes range from $700,000–$800,000+, with Gulf-front properties pushing well over $1 million. #1 — Garnier's Beach The best of the three — and it's not close. Garnier's Beach has ample parking, a real 50-yard sand beach on the Back Bay, a full park with a playground, open green space, and a kayak launch.
