From Tokyo's Youth Culture to Designer Toys - Yamepi [Creator Spotlight]
Yamepi is an artist shaped by Tokyo’s creative pulse. From early days of sketching to building a career in illustration, sculpture, and street culture, his work reflects a deep connection to the city’s ever-evolving artistic landscape. Yamepi is constantly pushing cultural boundaries, whether it’s creating digital art, painting canvases, his creative collective / comet_001_ , or sculpting handmade figures. With new projects in the works, he’s taking his vision further—transitioning from one-of-a-kind pieces to large-scale production, making his art more accessible while staying true to its underground roots. In this Creator Spotlight, we follow Yamepi through his creative process, from inspiration to execution. He shares his thoughts on Tokyo’s youth culture, the influence of Harajuku, and his dream of expanding his work beyond Japan.
