June 25, 1988, the Olympic Stadium in Munich. It is the day the Dutch national team won its first and also last major trophy: the European Championship in West Germany. The Netherlands faced the Soviet Union, who had already won the coveted prize once before in 1960. The result: 2-0, thanks to goals by Ruud Gullit and Marco van Basten.
