Valve Lash Explained - How to adjust 2JZ Engine Valve Lash In this video I explain what valve lash is and how to adjust it to meet manufacturing specification. This video is specific to the 2JZGTE engine found most notably in the Toyota Supra. A valve adjustment is typically always needed if aftermarket camshafts are installed. With the associated new valve springs and retainers, the valve clearance will fall out of spec. To bring this clearance back into specification, the existing clearance will need to be measured and associated shims and or buckets will need replaced with new ones to bring everything back into manufacturer specifications.
