Opening Days of 2026: Cold, Windy... and Hard Earned Trout

The 2026 trout season begins in true Scottish fashion - cold, windy and far from easy. In these first outings of the year, I'm back on the River Don searching for wild brown trout in tough, early-season conditions. With low temperatures, strong winds and little surface activity, it becomes a session of working hard for every opportunity and adapting tactics to find feeding fish.
