Although we're currently recharging our batteries on a family vacation in Egypt, our thoughts (and nerves!) are still revolving around the construction of a resort in the Philippines. Thanks to recordings from our manager Agnes, we're checking in on the progress of the next three days of work on our remote construction site. Remote project management is a real rollercoaster, and the clash of European logic with local work methods brings us a ton of emotions every day. 🏗️ In today's episode: The great battle over parking and drainage – we're preparing the ground for the concrete screed and fiercely fighting to maintain the proper slopes so that rainwater doesn't flood us or our neighbors. The next stage of work on the waterfall – we're starting to lay the stones and conducting the first water tests, which immediately reveal the team's joyful creativity. A costly lesson in air conditioning – we learn firsthand why buying a "bush" in the Philippines is a bad idea and how the high temperature in the electrical room threatened our batteries. A rainy season test – a heavy downpour tests our infrastructure and reveals where the water is standing in the resort, as well as how the solar system reacts to heavy cloud cover.
