Krone has redesigned its Comprima round balers. The new Plus model features reinforced components. We spent a season working with a baler-wrapper combination in grass and straw. Our baler was equipped with the top hitch in the drawbar. This provides significantly greater ground clearance under the drawbar than with the bottom hitch. The advantage is evident when handling large swaths of hay or straw. On the Plus machines, the tractor supplies all hydraulic functions with oil via the Power Beyond connections. This eliminates the need for a separate oil supply for the combination machines. Compared to the Xtreme version, the new Plus is much more clearly laid out. Krone has designed the GRP covers to be significantly slimmer, allowing for a better view, especially to the sides. Two additional rolls of wrapping film and/or net can be carried at the front under a cover above the tying device. However, this requires lifting the heavy rolls quite high above the drawbar. However, the view of the net from the tractor is good.
