His Eye Is On The Sparrow - Arr. Zanaida Robles | National Lutheran Choir

His Eye is on the Sparrow. Text: Civilla D. Martin; Music: Charles Gabriel, arr. Zanaida Stewart Robles © 2023 by Gentry Publications. Administered by Fred Bock Publishing Group. Used by permission. “Let not your heart be troubled.” his tender words I hear. And, resting on his goodness, I lose my doubts and fears. Though, by the path he leads me, though one thing I may see, his eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me. Why should I feel discouraged? Why should the shadows come? Why should my heart feel lonely and long for heav’n and home, when Jesus is my portion? A constant friend is he. His eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me. I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free. His eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me. Civilla D. Martin (1866-1948) Performed by the National Lutheran Choir at the Duke University Chapel. ~~~ Under the direction of nationally known conductor and educator Dr. Jennaya Robison, the 64-member National Lutheran Choir’s artistry is rooted in its mission to celebrate, invigorate and expand sacred choral music, bringing inspiration and meaning to people of diverse faiths and backgrounds.
