This antique brooch is lavishly set with diamonds and rubies. The beautiful brooch is crafted in a navette shape, meaning it resembles a small ship. It dates back to around 1900. The dazzling surface immediately catches the eye: In the center are six larger old-cut diamonds, tapering in size from the inside out. Between each of the six stones are two rubies, and the remaining surface of the brooch is also covered with smaller old-cut diamonds. This brings the total to 81 diamonds totaling four carats and 10 rubies totaling 0.8 carats. The stones are set in 14k rose gold (585). The bidding begins with a high opening bid, but what follows in the dealers' room astonishes everyone – who will pocket the brooch?
