Research Slam

The Research Slam is a fast-paced, interactive session showcasing emerging research in Africa’s media and creative ecosystem. Presenters share early-stage questions, tensions, and unresolved issues, while the audience critiques, poses questions, and helps shape the research agenda. For the second edition of the Research Slam, we’ll host: Baraza Research – introducing its first annual research on the State of the Media and Creative Ecosystem, mapping the sector and identifying key questions. Kui Githinji – African Uncensored – exploring the mental wellness of investigative journalists and the support systems available to them Uri Ludger – examining local news as infrastructure and how circulation, trust, and community attachment shape media sustainability
