FEB - Força Expedicionária Brasileira Parte 2 / Documentário em HDTV

FEB - Brazilian Expeditionary Force Part 2 / HDTV Documentary Brazilians whose story has finally been told! Combatants, nurses, and pacifists from our country who helped liberate Italy from Hitler's troops. The RPCTV (Rede Paranaense de Comunicação) team, an affiliate of Rede Globo in Paraná, traveled to the battle sites in Italy and found, even 66 years after the end of World War II, witnesses to the history and presence of Brazilians. It's impossible not to be moved by the testimonies of Italians who, even today, call us "Liberatori" (liberators). In Italy, aboard a motorhome that served as their home for 20 days, Alexander De Marco (cinematographer, producer, and creator of the project), Fernando Parracho (reporter and screenwriter), and technical assistant Dirceu de Souza traveled over 2,000 kilometers across the mountains of Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna to show the participation of Brazilians—from Paraná—in World War II. You will see the locations of the main battles, the cities that were dominated by Hitler's army and that the FEB, the Brazilian Expeditionary Force, fought to liberate. You will learn why Brazil, even so far from the conflict, entered this fight. The centenary of the FEB's greatest hero, Max Wolff Filho, from Paraná, who died in combat. The women from Paraná who helped save many lives: Nurse Virgínia Leite, in an exclusive interview shortly before her death, and the wife of writer Guimarães Rosa, Aracy, who earned the title of Angel of Hamburg. The reporters also present the mystical side of the war: the mystery of the statues that withstood a rain of bombs and the chapel, built by Brazilians, that remained hidden in the undergrowth for more than half a century. The treasure hunters who still find bombs, weapons and the most curious objects; and those who strive to keep alive the memory of Brazilians in the country that was devastated by cannons. The team also rescued photos and films from the time in a faithful record of the events that marked the 1940s in Brazil and Italy. These and many other highlights can be seen in this series, originally produced in high definition (HDTV) and shown on the Meu Paraná program on RPCTV, in a journey through time and through locations in Italy that marked the lives of our soldiers. Communities that were also marked by the passage of Brazilians during the Second World War.
