Chicago's NEWEST Thrift - Savers! Thrift With Me! Review + Chat!

To my surprise, I found out via @herstoryretold on Instagram that a NEW Savers Thrift opened up in Chicago near Ashland and Wellington, which happens to be directly on my route home from work. Immediately the following week, I checked it out! Come along for the ride! First off, it's HUGE! 24,000 sq. feet! It's incredibly clean and the most organized thrift store I've ever been in. I mean, the BATH TOWELS, were meticulously hung. Friendly employees - at least the ones I encountered. A HUGE assortment of clothes and shoes (though that's not my bread and butter, so I can't speak to percentage of inventory being vintage or pricing). Not crowded at all (which is to be expected on a Tuesday at 11:30am). Truly a delightful shopping experience. If I had any "gripes", it's that I didn't see much authentic vintage. Especially for re-selling in the homeware section. Also, there was an ample amount of empty space on the shelves. However, I really think it's due to opening less than a month ago (June 2026) and likely a very high volume of traffic. You've got to be there at the right time and right place (aka probably when a new cart comes out - do NOT use elbows!). That being said, if I would have been an Ebay re-seller, I would've scored VERY well. There was a Restoration Hardware Fan that likely would've scored about $100.00 profit, as well as, a Dyson Hair Wrap, which if it had all it's components, could've brought in around $300.00 or more (I didn't see the price Savers was selling it for...current beauty tools are very outside of my inventory, so I didn't even check). I have a feeling any type of re-seller for clothes would have done well also. I specialize in vintage home goods on my Etsy store, TinyFindsTreasures. I typically stock higher-end inventory. Today there wasn't anything for me there, but I feel very confident, the next time I stop there may be! I recommend going to check it out and see for yourself. If you're worried about seeing empty shelves, maybe wait a few weeks. If it's not out of your way too much, I'd just go now though. Also, a big perk is that they have a parking lot!
