Once again, American trumpeter Randy Brecker and the WDR Big Band are sharing the stage. In 2003, they created the program “Some Skunk Funk” with Randy Brecker’s brother Michael Brecker; the subsequent CD release won a Grammy Award. Later projects, including collaborations with Chris Potter, also attest to the high musical quality of this partnership. Under the direction of Bob Mintzer, Brecker’s trumpet playing meets the sound of the WDR Big Band. Recorded live on April 19, 2026, at the Kurhaus Bad Hamm.
