South Africa Now | 22 July 2026 In today’s update, protests, road incidents, fires, wildlife sightings and scenic views are captured from across the country. In KwaZulu-Natal, a truck is looted following an accident on the N2 southbound after the M7, while another accident is reported on the M7 heading towards Pinetown. An abnormal load truck transporting massive wind turbine blades travels from Richards Bay onto the N2. Coastal highlights include daybreak at St Mike’s, beach views along Durban Beachfront and Umhlanga, as well as dry weather conditions in New Germany. In Gauteng, a truck is reported overturned on the N1 near the Grasmere 1 Stop. Road maintenance is underway in Wilro Park, Johannesburg, while additional transport scenes include a Metrorail train arriving at Germiston Station. Scenic views are also captured at Homestead Dam in Benoni. In the Eastern Cape, protesters gather along Addo Road in Wells Estate, Port Elizabeth. In the Western Cape, a fire breaks out at a recycling facility in Kranshoek near Plettenberg Bay.
