What Are Captain Blackadder's Medals?
Edmund Blackadder is a fictional yet iconic British Army officer known from Blackadder Goes Forth. In this video we explore the historical accuracy of his military decorations comparing them to his military career. His military awards include medals for the Second Boer War (Anglo-Boer War), the 1914 Star, Croix de Guerre and finally one other British military decoration. After publishing the video I did realise that there is one clasp for the Queen's South Africa Medal that was issued only to colonial troops (Defence of Mafeking) which is also very rare and therefore along with the other three I mention, amongst the most expensive.
