Dozens of ships have set sail in recent days with the aim of reaching the Gaza Strip to open a humanitarian corridor. The mission is called the Global Sumud Flotilla, and hundreds of activists from over 44 countries are on board, including Sweden's Greta Thunberg. Over the years, other similar missions have attempted to reach Gaza, often unsuccessfully, as Israel has blocked or hindered these initiatives, sometimes by force. Just recently, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir declared that volunteers aboard the flotilla's vessels will be considered terrorists by Israel.
