Step aboard Millie, a Cape George 36. Millie was designed by William Atkin, modified for fiberglass construction by Ed Monk, Sr, and she was built by Cecil Lange and Sons (now Cape George Marine Works) in Port Townsend, WA. She was launched in 1978. Millie is a yard-built Cape George 36. Although about 110 hulls have been built to date, only 30 were fully finished by the Cape George yard in Port Townsend, Washington. Their remarkably high level of craftsmanship and engineering is wonderful to behold. The yard-finished Cape George 36s are included in Ferenc Mate’s book, The World’s Best Sailboats.
