Introduction to Pilotage
Pilotage is being able to navigate safely into and out of a harbour/anchorage/port knowing where you are at all times, where your hazards are and a safe route in/out. This is particularly useful if you are heading into somewhere new or a challenging/busy area – or both! Knowledge and experience of some simple pilotage techniques could open up where you can go boating. Do you know your transits from your clearing bearings? How do you use a contour line to guide you into somewhere? Our 45 minute FREE online training session aims to give you an Introduction or Revision to the following session content: Basic principles of pilotage, Pilotage Techniques, Constructing a pilotage plan
