Post-Tensioning Repairs and Modifications
Presented by Pete Barlow, Contech Services, Inc. The presentation will present an overview of typical causes of post tensioning failures such as errant core drillers, concrete saws, improper installation during original construction and poor protection of post tensioning. There are numerous challenges that a repair contractor faces when they are required to expose either failed or active post tensioning systems. With the current active building economy; structures are being constructed more quickly and many building are being repurposed. This can lead to construction problems and or requirements to modify existing post tensioning systems. Many of the traditional post tensioning repair process are employed to modify post tensioning systems. This overview will touch on causes, techniques and methods of handling post tensioning in a variety of conditions.
