Muğla-Köyceğiz | 2000 Yıllık Şifa Kaynağı Sultaniye Kaplıcası

Hello, Welcome to our Çekirdek Hayat channel. In this video, we continue to explore and discover the Muğla region, where we immigrated with our nuclear family six months ago. We are happy to have you join us. Sultaniye Thermal Springs, located at the foot of Mount Ölemez southwest of Lake Köyceğiz, dates back thousands of years. It is known to have been used by the people of Caunos around 100 BC. During the Byzantine period, they were expanded and accommodations were built. The facilities built during the Byzantine period are now submerged under the waters of Lake Köyceğiz. During the Roman period, it was converted into a comprehensive hospital. According to sources, the words "In the name of the gods, death cannot enter here" were inscribed at the hospital entrance, from which Mount Ölemez takes its name. Sultaniye Thermal Springs offer direct treatment for many ailments, including rheumatism, kidney and urinary tract disorders, metabolic disorders, mental fatigue, skin and gynecological diseases. The waters of Sultaniye Thermal Springs contain calcium chloride, calcium sulfate, calcium sulfide, bromide, radon, and radioactive substances. With a water temperature of 39 degrees Celsius, Sultaniye Thermal Springs has the highest radioactivity in Türkiye (98.3%). It also ranks second in the world in terms of radon levels, after the hot springs in Indonesia. There's a beauty mud here. It's said to soften skin and smooth wrinkles when applied to the body. Sultaniye Thermal Springs is operated by the Köyceğiz Municipality and features wooden accommodations and a daily restaurant.
