We Turned Back on the Colorado Trail | 3 Days of Wildfires, Coffee & Adventure

Sometimes adventure doesn't go according to plan... and that's okay. Our plan was simple: spend several days hiking one of the most beautiful sections of the Colorado Trail. But between wildfire closures, changing logistics, relentless elevation, physical exhaustion, and the realities that life sometimes brings with it, this adventure became about much more than reaching the next mile marker. Over three unforgettable days we climbed nearly 4,500 feet, shared great conversations, met an unforgettable dog named Cooper, enjoyed Wild Earth Coffee beside alpine rivers, and experienced the kind of moments that remind us why we head into the mountains in the first place. This isn't a story about quitting. It's a story about making the right decision, respecting the mountains, looking out for each other, and remembering that sometimes the greatest adventure isn't measured by how many miles you finish—it's measured by what you learn along the way. Thanks for coming along on this journey.
