Zambia's Vice President Mutale Nalumango on Thursday escaped unhurt when the Zambia Air Force helicopter carrying her crashed. Zambia's Secretary to the Cabinet, Patrick Kangwa, in a media statement, has explained that as a standard procedure, she was rushed to a nearby facility where she has been certified to be well. The accident happened shortly after takeoff in Nakonde, a town in Muchinga province near the border with Tanzania. Speaking live to local media from the health facility where she received treatment, Nalumango expressed her gratitude to God for saving her life, as well as the lives of the eight other crew members on board.
