DR. ALICE G. EDUARDO BS Commerce, 1986 Chief Executive Officer, Sta. Elena Construction and Development Corporation Ms. Alice Galang Eduardo, a 1986 alumna of the UST College of Commerce and Business Administration, is fondly known as the “Woman of Steel.” As Founder and CEO of Sta. Elena Construction and Development Corporation, she has led landmark projects such as power plants, expressways, bridges, and high-rise developments nationwide. A staunch advocate of philanthropy, she donated the Hematology-Oncology Isolation Ward of PGH, funded the Bahay Silungan for nurses and patients’ families, and supports Habitat for Humanity. Named among Forbes Asia’s Heroes of Philanthropy (2018) and People Asia’s Lifetime Achievement Awardee (2023), Ms. Eduardo exemplifies Thomasian competence, commitment, and compassion, transforming success into service for God and nation. On 30 September 2025, the University of Santo Tomas joyfully confered the Doctor of Commerce, honoris causa, upon Ms. Alice G. Eduardo. In gratitude for the abundant blessings bestowed upon the University, we take this moment to reflect on the significance of honoring those whose lives mirror the Thomasian ideals of competence, commitment, and compassion.
